Theres plenty to look forward to this week at Kilkenny Track. Wednesday nights card will feature the semi finals of the Track Supporters Club Open Unraced. The "Melodys" prefix has been associated with many a top class greyhound over the years and Patrick Collins from Co. Kerry has produced another potential superstar in the form of "Melodys Daimond" who was last weeks fastest 1st rd winner in 29.11 (.20 slow). This Jan '11 daughter of Royal Impact and Talita Beauty is trained by Declan Byrne and goes from Trap 2 in the 2nd semi final. Paul Hennessy enjoyed a fine double last week in the form of "Slant" 29.61 (.20 slow) & "Sup Katie" 29.51 (.20 slow) and these well bred youngsters are lukely to improve further.

Fridays card will include 3 finals, the most valuable one of theses will be the Mary Ramsbottom Memorial A3 525 which carries a decent €1,500 1st prize. SUPPORTERS CLUB UNRACED

Theres an intriguing card at Kilkenny Track on Wednesday Night with 4 1st Round Heats of the Kilkenny Track Supporters Club Open Unraced. One can look foolish trying to pick out a winner of an open unraced before the 1st Round but a few of the entries certainly catch the eye. Paul Dalton's  Jan '11 bitch "Jaguar Hope" ( Ace Hi Rumble - Water Girl) has an impressive 29.16 qualifying trial around Kilkenny. Paul Hennessy has 4 entries which include "Sup Katie" an April '11 daughter of Royal Impact and Cabra Midget, a half sister of Tyrur Justin and she posted a smart 29.70 trial last May. Sean Bourke's "Mustang Minogue" & Eugene Hearn's "Yacht Dynamo" are others to keep an eye out for.
All in all it promises for some top class racing. The competition is sponsored by The Track Supporters Club is confined to 2011 whelps and the winner receives €1,200. If the winner takes part in the Con & Anne Kirby Memorial Open Stake in Limerick in March, the Supporters Club will also pay the entry fee!
