FRIDAYS FINALS

The action continues at the St James Park Venue with  3 finals down for decision this Friday night. The most valubale of theses will be the John Mitchell, Track Bookmaker A2 525 which carries a winners prize of €1,250. This really is a wide open contest with cases made for all greyhounds and no dog likely to be shorter than 5/2. Slight favourtism goes to the Billy Ramsbottom owned "Garryglass Marco" who is undefeated in the competion and is well drawn in Trap 3. The final of the Springhill Court Hotel N2 and the final of the Track Bar A4 525 are also down for decion Friday Night as well as a very strong supporting card. On Friday week, Nov 30th, the 48 Dog Springhill Court A4 / A5 ( Backgraders Allowed) will commence and that carries a winners prize of €2,000!!. There will be a number of sweepsatkes run in conjunction with the Springhill Court Hotel A4 and all finals will be on Friday December 21st.

KILKENNY PEOPLE OF THE YEAR AWARDS





 The Kilkenny Person of the Year Award Scheme was organised by Rehab to give public recognition to the people in Kilkenny City and County for their contribution to society. This years’ event took place in the Newpark Hotel last Friday night and featured The Kilkenny Track Supporters Club who won the “Phoenix” Award for 2012. We did not win the overall People of the year Award but we all went home very happy with our "Phoenix Award".
 The attached picture shows Rita Leahy accepting the "Phoenix" award on behalf of the Kilkenny Track Supporters Club.

The Mary Ramsbottom memorial was won by Tom O`Dwyer for the dont know syndicate with Some Touch. Billy Ramsbottom presents Tom with the trophy. also present Liam , Linda and Karol Ramsbottom, Dony Brothy., Tom Kinane, PJ Brennan, Justin and Daniel Brothy

FRIDAYS CARD


Theres plenty to look forward to this week at Kilkenny Track. Wednesday nights card will feature the semi finals of the Track Supporters Club Open Unraced. The "Melodys" prefix has been associated with many a top class greyhound over the years and Patrick Collins from Co. Kerry has produced another potential superstar in the form of "Melodys Daimond" who was last weeks fastest 1st rd winner in 29.11 (.20 slow). This Jan '11 daughter of Royal Impact and Talita Beauty is trained by Declan Byrne and goes from Trap 2 in the 2nd semi final. Paul Hennessy enjoyed a fine double last week in the form of "Slant" 29.61 (.20 slow) & "Sup Katie" 29.51 (.20 slow) and these well bred youngsters are lukely to improve further.
 
Fridays card will include 3 finals, the most valuable one of theses will be the Mary Ramsbottom Memorial A3 525 which carries a decent €1,500 1st prize. Ger Langton's Locnamon Angel has been the star of the competition winning each round including last fridays semi final effort of 29.04. She has drawn trap 6 in the final and will face tough competion from Tom O'Dwyer's "Some Touch" who is well drawn in Trap 3 as is the evergreen "Welesbourne Dan" who has drawn trap 1 for the final. It promises to be a great final and a great nights racing as its also a Benefit Night for Dicksboro GAA Club.
