Uncle Willie take the Sean Flynn Memorial

On Friday we had the final of the Sean Flynn Memorial A3 525. This final boasted a cool €1,500 to the winner and no doubt the Richard Dempsey owned Uncle Willie was a worthy winner.   After two impressive displays winning the opening round in 29.05 and the semi final in 29.07, Uncle Willie was opened at the very short price of 4/6, but that didn't deter the punters, and they went after the price and returned the dog a 1/2 shot.   As the lids opened Willie shot to the bend and for many it was all over, but Soldier Laddie, went off in pursuit and pushed 'Willie all the way to line, but the winner did it in style none the less.

This week sees the start of the €3500 Kilkenny track A6, and as this stake was no open to backgraders, it sees some very very interesting pups go to traps.   A quick glance at the card tells us that there are definitely some real good pups to look forward to.  Helen Cashin's, Lollys Dolly,  is a son of Hooch Babe by Droopys Kewell the dam of Smooth Daddy this years Derby Plate winner.   Other eye catchers are Paul Hennessy's Barely Blue, and Murty Leahy's Caesers Rocket.

On Friday September 30th we have 1st round Heats of the Kilford Arms A2 /  A3 525 which carries a winners prize of €3,500, so plenty to look forward to at Kilkenny Track in the upcoming few weeks.
